Antoinetteって日本語のカタカナ表記ではどう表記するの? この名前の人物はマリー・アントワネットぐらいしかおらず、しかもフランス語の音訳だし。 英語名前では日本語にはまったく馴染みが無い名前なのです。

Princess Muna? Isn't she queen edit

I am Ibn_Hakim@operamail.com my wisdom knowledge and understanding without Wizi-dominance says a nurse is a good gardener hence apropriate kween.196.216.135.25 15:26, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

She's the wife of king hussein, she should be a queen not Princess! Eshcorp 15:30, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

She didn't convert to Islam so she's just a Princess Consort. 24.14.120.92 23:43, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

She was not titled Queen because she was British and the people were very vocal about it. If she hadn't been willing to convert I doubt King Hussein would have married her. It is incorrect to assume that she didn't convert because she wasn't styled as Queen. In Jordan it is the King's perview to style his wife as he chooses.

Long dead, but similarily Prince Phillip is not a King or Royal Consort or any such thing, all of his current titles where created for him by his In-Laws. While I'm here I'm getting rid of the [citation needed], it clearly states in the constitution that is referenced in article 28e that "No person shall ascend the Throne unless he is a Moslem, mentally sound and born by a legitimate wife and of Moslem parents". That has happened, giving no reason to believe she isn't a Moslem.

What I have read from vaiours sources is that Jordan's Princess-mother never converted to Islam, and that was the reason she was never queen.Vp bongolan (talk) 17:52, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Second Wife edit

King Hussein's first wife was Dina bint Abdul-Hamid, while Princess Muna was actually his second. Silver crescent 00:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Convert edit

Antoinette did convert to Islam, if she didn't she would have never been in the Jordanian Royal Family

--Abdullah Geelah 21:13, 16 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

She converted because the Jordanian constitution requires all persons hold succession rights be the products of a legitimate marriage between two muslim parents. Abdullah wouldn't be King if she had remained Christian.

Well, she could have converted by her lips but maybe not by her heart. If I refer to Sweden the royal family has to be protestant christians, but it has often occured that a catholic woman have married a male member of the royal Swedish court and still practised her catholic religion but a little bit more discrete. --194.18.224.194 17:21, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Queen Brandissima

If you know that then you have proof of these Catholic Queens? Or its just original research and coindidental evidence. But theres no proof that Abdullah's parents weren't both Muslim, Muslim countries tend to tend to be a bit more hardline I think, I think we would of heard somewhere unless he has one hell of a secret police. I think all that makes the consitution an acceptable reference. If she one days leaves the closet and admits shes actually whatever other religion she was before (which we don't even appear to have so she could of always been a Muslim), then I'll owe you a coke. Course again I'm talking to myself in a long empty room so no arguements I guess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.137.207.191 (talk) 04:48, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Public role? edit

The article is silent about her life in Jordan. Did she play any official role as royal consort? --85.226.40.64 (talk) 19:00, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

She lives in the UK, and the present king and his famiky visit her there! Queen Rania once said that "the princess-mother's health has not been well, that is why we visit e UK." Vp bongolan (talk) 17:54, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Did she play a public role during her period as princess consort between 1961 and 1971? I believe that was the question. --Aciram (talk) 13:01, 25 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Toni not Antoinette edit

Official birth register of England and Wales, second quarter 1941. 'Gardiner, Toni A.' is in the first column about 3/4 of way down.

Dear users, readers and editors, Her Royal Highness's name prior to her conversion to Islam and marriage to His Late Majesty King Hussein was Toni Gardiner, not Antoinette. Toni is her name and it is not short for Antoinette. My source of information is HRH Princess Muna’s press office. Regards --Yumn (talk) 09:24, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Photo edit

Awesome that the 50+ yr old photo chosen to represent this woman focuses on her as a breeder, and not of any accomplishment she's had since then.
