Acting Prime Ministers edit

I suggest removing acting PMs from the table. Partly because they are not significant and partly because it might become unwieldy, since a large number of PMs were also acting PMs for a period of time and it should then be specified. For example, Gediminas Kirkilas stopped being PM on a permanent basis on 17 November 2008 and them became acting PM. Kubilius was then appointed PM on 28 November 2008, but Kirkilas continued acting as the PM until 9 December 2008 (thus there was an overall where Kubilius was already appointed PM but did not act and Kirkilas was acting). Using only permanent PMs and their appointment/dismissal dates would be more straightforward and would be consistent with how the government uses it in their history section. That site could also be used as a source, as opposed to the currently unsourced numbers. No longer a penguin (talk) 14:52, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Agree. If acting PM is somehow important, it can be noted elsewhere or in footnote section. I am always concerned that some of the "acting" roles are magnets for original research and dis-information. Renata (talk) 22:54, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
My concern is that it's difficult to establish a complete record of acting prime ministers. Permanent prime ministers are notable and there are lists of them, but acting ones are usually not included. Therefore, it's very easy to show that a particular person was an acting PM (by finding a corresponding presidential decree), but very nearly impossible to make sure that the list includes ALL the acting PMs, since that would require checking all the presidential decrees. Therefore, the list would include only those acting PMs that someone was bothered enough to include. No longer a penguin (talk) 06:54, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
