I saw that the article lacks references. In the article it is mentioned, that in France the printing of books was prohibited with punishement of death penalty during the 1500.

I found a reference,

"This attempt culminated in France on January 13, 1535, when a law was enacted at the request of the Catholic Curch, a law which forced the closure of all bookshops and stipulated death penalty by hanging for anybody using a printing press"

This extract comes from the book, "Engström, Chrisitan. The case for Copyright Reform, 2012, p.40" However Christian Engström has a clear and not uncontroversial vision on copyright. Is this a valid source? Mastomer (talk) 13:33, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
