Dysphagia is not the same as abnormal swallows edit

The use of dysphagia in this article was incorrect. Dysphagia is the symptom of difficulty of food passing from mouth to stomach. Dysphagia is a complaint of a patient with presbyphagia. Swallow disorder is the term that the swallow is not working correctly due to an underlying problem such as stricture, GERD, ca, or other cause. Saying that the elderly are at increased risk of dysphagia is like saying the elderly are at increased risk of chest pain. A symptom is not the same as a disease.
