As far as I know the list is: Proteinuria, renal insufficiency, liver disease, neurological deficits (stroke, seizure, etc), blood disturbances, fetal growth restrictions. If someone can find a ref and add would be awesome. Millionmice (talk) 02:40, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

After reading the article on Pre-eclampsia, I am impressed by the level of detail, organization, and overall high quality of writing. I think it is great how the article uses descriptions of the medical terminology with the medical-ese term wiki-linked following in parentheses. I like this style since it makes the article readable without having learned the medical lexicon and yet is also educational in that it teaches new terms.

I found the first paragraph (introduction) very informative. However, I wonder if it could be simplified in hopes that it’ll be easier to understand if someone wants to do a “quick look up” on the topic.

In terms of minor suggestions, in the signs and symptoms section, second paragraph, “Further” should be “Furthermore” (I think?).

Some questions that I would pose: Under “Causes,” is air pollution an established cause or more of controversial as to whether it is causative? I am not sure but just wanted to make sure that we are in accordance with the Wiki Philosophy of portraying evidence in proportion to the acceptance of it.

I wonder if it’s possible to wiki link a name of a section. Specifically, Differential Diagnosis is section title yet I think it would be useful to have a link to what it means.

Definition

On the etymology of eclampsia, it just refers to a brightening or lighting up, not lightning. See Liddell & Scott's Greek-English Lexicon. Chris

Over-technical language?

"Abnormal chromosome 19 microRNA cluster (C19MC) impairs extravillus trophoblast cell invasion to the spiral arteries, causing high resistance, low blood flow, and low nutrient supply to the fetus.[16][17][18]"

Surely this is too technical for a Wikipedia article. The word "trophoblast" is not defined in the article (it means placental cell, I believe). And "extravillus"? "Spiral arteries"?

I am doing a PhD in genetics and biochemistry but I don't understand this. Could it be made less technical?
