I have removed the following content from the article and placed it here. I cannot find any sources to verify these claims. The Encyclopedia of Canada's Peoples source was only listed in the previous "Sources" section, but I cannot access the content. North America1000 01:49, 28 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Prawn soup is often served in the outlying regions of the Northwest Territories in Canada. The prawns are traditionally caught by fishermen to feed to their families and friends as a form of winter nourishment, as the prawn soup can be kept well in the area's climate.
