  •   I love this hymn when we sing it at church! Well done on creating it @RandomCanadian:! Date, length and hooks all OK. I've just added quote marks for the title. QPQ done (even though not needed), No close paraphrasing. Picture licence fine. Good to go. A fine first nomination! The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 17:42, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@The C of E: Thanks! Actually not truly the first (I created that article from scratch)... Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 17:48, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cwm Rhondda edit

Is this text ever sung with Cwm Rhondda (i.e. Guide me O thou great Redeemer)? The words seem to fit that tune quite well, although the "songs of praises, songs of praises" and "praise him! praise him" repetitions are slightly different syllable counts. I would be slightly surprised if no-one had experimented with this before. GPinkerton (talk) 16:16, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@GPinkerton: WP:NOTFORUM. In any case, a look at hymnary shows no record of this being sung to that tune, and in any case this is an encyclopedia article so we should only list the most frequent settings. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 19:26, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@RandomCanadian: Sorry, I am aware of WP:NOTFORUM and thank you very much for bringing that resource to my attention. Obviously if there were a connection it would have been notable and worth including but since not, not. Thanks! GPinkerton (talk) 20:43, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Undiscussed move edit

@Morriswa: Per WP:BRD I have reverted your (incorrect) move (see the majority of academic sources cited in the article). Let's discuss. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:14, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Song titles should be capitalized the way that I did. Morriswa (Charlotte Allison) (talk) 01:33, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's not a song title. It is a first line (incipit) used as a stand-in title for a song which otherwise has no title. See MOS:INCIPIT, and the high quality academic sources which we should be basing these articles upon (such as both version of the Dictionary of Hymnology, i.e. link to the more recent one). Wikipedia isn't a hymnal. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:44, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
