When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). The name used throughout this article seems a little strange to me. The capital Sp is weird and there should be a space after the "." I would write it Powelliphanta sp. Augustus or perhaps Powelliphanta sp. 'Augustus'. However my expertise is in bacterial taxonomy so I may be wrong here. Onco_p53 23:16, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I could not find an official convention on it but it seems that the convention is a non-italicised name in speech marks after the genus. -- Alan Liefting- (talk) - 21:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have now corrected it to the name used in the paper that I reference in the article. The New Zealand Threat Classification System refers to it as Powelliphanta "Mt Augustus" but we should use the name in paper by Trewick et al. -- Alan Liefting- (talk) - 21:41, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
