Preparation

edit

There should be a paragraph about the preperation before the powder coating is applied, the cleaning, rinsing and galvanizing are very important parts of all paint and powder processes. --Ifrit 08:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Branding

edit

We've powder coated something, but we cant get any sattisfactory branding onto the powder coated surface. We've tried silscreening, engraving, and applying a stick-on, none are sattisfactory. Any ideas.

thank for not adding any contribution whatsoever. We have found that Laser engraving works wonders, for anyone interested.

Try baking 70% (7 minutes) - silkscreen or print - then bake to required time —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kentiger (talkcontribs) 14:16, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have added my website in the external link list. This website www.ipconweb.com is dedicated to the powder coating activity in India. It has been in existance for more than six years. I am surprised why it was removed!

Perhaps because adding links to your own sites is against our conflict of interest and external links guidelines. It also seems to be more about listing links to suppliers than providing much encyclopedic information, which I think pushes it into the "links to be avoided" category. -- Siobhan Hansa 05:24, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Though I am new to the wiki concept, I am not sure who added the two remaining links in the External Links section. Do these links also fall in the "Links to be avoided" category since they do contain list of suppliers.

We can also consider the following list of sites.

http://asiacoat.com/english/

http://www.coatings.de

http://www.pfonline.com

http://www.coat-this.com/index.asp

http://www.powdercoating.org/home.htm

http://www.metalfinishing.com/index.html

I removed a commercial link to TNT coatings from within the article, it added nothing to the article and is a simply an advertisement

tg of 200ºC

edit

i dont think a Tg of 200ºC is accurate, since most powder coating resins have a Tg of 50 to a 100 ºC, also during curing the powder only starts to melt when the reaction is going, giving a very bad appearance —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.229.52.189 (talk) 20:44, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
