Potjie is the diminutive of Pot, ie small pot food.

I have never heard potjiekos pronounced "-kosh". S has the same pronunciation in afrikaans as it does in english. I am tempted to change the page but I might be wrong?

I made a guess as to what the IPA was supposed to be, based on "poy-kee-kos". I assumed that the stress was "POY-kee-kos". kwami (talk) 00:03, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

The traditions, history and culture of potjiekos are very similar to a braai, so I suggest a merger.Socrates2008 14:55, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
