secretion

edit

I think that the page needs to be modified to say that both the paraventricular nucleus and supraoptic nucleus release both hormones, with the supraoptic doing so in higher quantity. Here's a reference to what I'm talking about: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17932139?ordinalpos=4&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.172.94.68 (talk) 18:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

More

edit

More information on this is needed. Such as disorders.

Agreed. I've begun by mentioning SIADH and central diabetes insipidus. Feel free to augment the "role in disease" section with others. --David Iberri (talk) 19:25, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Neurohypophysis

edit

Neurohypophysis and posterior pituitary are not synonymous. The neurohypophysis includes the posterior pituitary as well as the infundibulum. Chrisjustinparr (talk) 18:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pars nervosa

edit

The pars nervosa is also a circumventricular organ. --MBVECO

Neither of these images present a clear view of the important structures in the posterior pituitary. I don't know any public pictures that show the axon projections, but this would make the anatomy section much easier to understand. PVSpud (talk) 03:20, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Structure of Article

edit

The anterior pituitary article, which is mentioned in this one is rated C class. I think this article should be structured similar to that one. The other one has development, role in the endocrine system and behavioral effects which I think would be important information to add to the article Aahoward13 (talk) 19:03, 19 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also, for the clinical significance section, I think the effects of Oxytocin should be mentioned as well like issues with lactation/ problems with urinary/and mother bonding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aahoward13 (talkcontribs) 19:13, 19 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
