Suggest moving page to "Post-Oak bluff"
editIn their respective books, Super System (1979) ISBN 1-58042-081-8 and Harrington on Hold'em, Vol. II (2005) ISBN 1-880685-35-3 , both Doyle Brunson (the undisputed popularizer of the term) and Dan Harrington consistently write the term as "Post-Oak bluff". Though it can be found written both ways in a variety of mediums (mostly on the Web), it was originally scribed "Post-Oak bluff" by the man who introduced it to the world. Brunson is widely considered to be one of the (if not the) most highly respected figures in the poker world and Harrington stands alongside him amongst poker's most elite players. And their books are some of the most highly praised poker books in publication. I strongly recommend that the guys who introduced the rest of the world to the term be trusted with its correct spelling: "Post-oak bluff", not "post oak". --Raoul Duke (talk) 03:50, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Removed notability, unreferenced, & unverified claims banners
editHaving added references (with inline citations) to two very reputable books---which, together, can affirm all the information contained in the article---I have gone ahead and removed the notability, unreferenced, & unverified claims banners which were in place for just under a year (since May 2008). If there are any objections, please voice them for discussion. If I have time, I may try to include some additional references. Thanks. --Raoul Duke (talk) 01:40, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Name
editAnyone have an explanation regarding the term "post oak"? Timmypees 22:53, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- A post oak is a small tree (used for making fence posts, hence the name) and a post oak bluff is a small bet. Dave6 04:23, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
A major edit in June 2007 by 208... changed the definition to something that I would call a "free card" bet. I reverted it entirely. --LDC 23:17, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
