Conversion problem edit

The distance caribou migrate as stated is 1,500 miles (900 km). This conversion is incorrect--1500 km = 900 miles, not vice versa. I'm not changing it because I don't know which is the correct number. 128.174.88.236 (talk) 17:46, 19 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

User:Lee E Harding, I see divergent content here. Two different names are given to Porcupine caribou: Rangifer arcticus arcticus and Rangifer tarandus granti. Which is it? -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 18:02, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

? I just went through that yesterday and thought I fixed everything. I also added a (perhaps lengthy) historical explanation of how "granti" came to be misapplied to the Porcupine herd. Did I miss something?

BTW, I took photos of this herd in 1972; not really very good, but they show a mass of caribou migrating that is not shown in the existing photos. I wrote articles about them for Nature Canada and Canadian Geographic. I've put off learning the intricacies of assigning a CC license to a photo and then tagging the photo with the license URL. -LEH Lee E Harding (talk) 19:53, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
