I attended Rainbow Park Elemantary school between 1958-1960 I was on the skipper Chuck show when they started airing black schools reading what I have about Chuck Zinc He allow me to be apart of history.I remember rocking from side to side and the treats that he gave us I believe it was royal castle burgers.I would very much like to show this to my grandkids and children how do I go about getting a copy of that show.My name is Eddie Jackson Jr. my email address is kushnite@cfl.rr.com my cell phone is 321-501-6899,my home address is 974 pineland dr. I have posted a great deal of information about Chuck Zink and others on the program. I was the very first woman to be co-host of the program in 1957-58. I have scanned and posted photos at Photobucket.com and there are some other photos at TV Party. I've talked about this program on the Internet. It's really hard for me at age 71 to navigate this site and I really don't have time to do it. Unfortunately, I don't know how to get the source material that you need to verify that we all existed. There was one video posted by a business group in which Chuck Zink talks about his history in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Miami. I am briefly shown with him at a Christmas party. In my collection of memorabilia, I have a great deal of paper material -- a decoder card, photos of us with sponsors, lots of personal photos and a huge number of people who posted their thoughts and feelings when Chuck died. There is one book that has been published on the subject of many children's TV show hosts in the early days of television. It is called "Hello There, Boys and Girls", but it must be out of print. I interviewed the author a few years ago on Oregon Public Broadcasting, but if I recall correctly, he told me that Chuck did not participate in his survey and is not in the book. I am very frustrated that it was cited for reliability and verifiability or whatever you call it. As it is, this source looks as if it is going to be taken down. That would be a real shame and would deny a very personable and down-to-earth man the kudos he deserves. I wish I had access to his elderly wife, but she was ill in 2006 and would be 85 years old if still alive. She did not partcipate in any of his various activities and remained a private person in her own right.

Okay, Neil Rogers listed an obituary for the Skipper here, and the obit mentions a Miami Herald Tropic interview from 1972 so that'd be useful if anyone could get that... he was an announcer for Jackie Gleason for twelve years so there should be some info about him from that angle...

TV Party has a piece on him also. Billboard mentioned him in 1970, as does this "History of Fort Lauderdale" book from 2004. Let's see what we can add, hm? DS (talk) 13:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
