editNovatian fled Rome, but his followers organized into a sect considered heretical by the rest of Christianity. What sect was that? I think a little illumination on the subject might help things. --Mitsukai 14:59, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Added link to Novatianism; hope this helps. User:FeanorStar7
Helps much. Thanks. --Mitsukai 00:32, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)
POV Strictly Catholic?
editSince this is part of the Saints section, is this page's POV strictly Catholic? From the strict historical point of view, the term Pope (Popa) was not used until 380 A.D. Before this there were just Bishops, some more self-agrandizing than others. So it is a little difficult to reconcile this with the blanket declaration at the top of the page giving Cornelius's election dates. I believe it is more correct to leave out the term pope. From the Council of Nicaea in 325, we can see quite clearly that the bishops were quite concerned with maintaining their independence and did not even want to have to recognize priests ordained by other bishops.
Deleted external links
editThe editor who deleted external links at this article has made similar deletions at many other articles, including links to on-line text of many Early Christian writers. Discussion of this behavior, which would have been routinely reverted as vandalism if it were from an anonymous IP, may be found at Talk:Papias. --Wetman 18:53, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Date of birth?
editDoes anyone know where and when Cornelius was born? Considering this page is about a person, this would be useful.

Moses
editThere is a mention of Moses who was the leading candidate for Pope. Can we link that? Is there a fuller name? RJFJR (talk) 18:41, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
