POP TV → Pop TV – I understand this is a Swedish channel, but does "POP" stand for anything? 2601:8C:4500:1294:E9CD:6EA7:3E1F:88EE (talk) 22:36, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- It's not a Swedish channel but a Slovenian one. --В²C ☎ 00:32, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. No reasonable basis provided for the proposed move (I reserve the right to change my mind if such is provided). --В²C ☎ 00:08, 22 February 2019 (UTC) changing !vote - see below --В²C ☎ 19:44, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- How about MOS:TM as a reasonable basis? —BarrelProof (talk) 00:14, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Depends on how reliable sources most commonly refer to this topic. --В²C ☎ 00:26, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- At least this source uses all caps. --В²C ☎ 00:30, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- It is completely irrelevant whether some source can be found that uses the promotional styling. —BarrelProof (talk) 05:44, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- How about MOS:TM as a reasonable basis? —BarrelProof (talk) 00:14, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per MOS:TM, unless reasonable evidence can be provided for POP being an acronym. Some sources that use the uncapitalised "Pop TV" : [1][2][3][4]. PC78 (talk) 10:02, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per MOS:TM / MOS:CAPS and PC78. The MOS doesn't say to look for what's most common in sources. The lead section of MOS:CAPS says "Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization." MOS:ALLCAPS says "Avoid writing with all caps (all capital letters) ... when they have only a stylistic function. Reduce them to title case, sentence case, or normal case, as appropriate." MOS:TMRULES says "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization practices, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official", as long as this is a style already in widespread use, rather than inventing a new one", and provides similar examples, saying to "avoid: TIME, KISS, ASUS, SONY Mobile". There is no mention in those of looking for what is most common in sources. Wikipedia has its own style guide – it does not try to follow popularity in sources in matters of styling. PC78 has identified several independent reliable sources that use the proposed styling, and that is sufficient. —BarrelProof (talk) 19:30, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per MOS:TM and usage examples from PC78. --В²C ☎ 19:44, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- I really didn't expect that. If you had said it 45 minutes sooner, it would have saved me a long copy-paste rant. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:33, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per PC78. Well reasoned -- Whats new?(talk) 02:55, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
