500 crore budget for both two parts?

Since both the parts are being shot back-to-back, it's likely that the stated budget is for both the parts combined. The oldest source I could find is DTNext from Jan 2020 but it doesn't clarify anything.

Sources like Indiaglitz and India Herald do say that it's for both parts while the "reliable" sources prefer keep be mum about it or even copy from Wikipedia.

@Wjejdc3345, 500-505 seems like biased numbers, while still some reliable sources claim the figures to be around 480+ so would be somewhere between 480 to 500 crore from a neutral stand and some figure lesser than that is definitely not possible going by the official sources and adhering to timelines as per day 39 of movie. Nandini: please remove phrases “Veerapandiyan and Mandakini's biological daughter, Madhuranthakan's twin sister”. This has not been revealed in Ponniyin Selvan: I, and would constitute a spoiler for those who have not read the entire novel or not seen part II.

Mandakini: please remove the phrases “Madhuranthakan and Nandini's deaf and mute mother, Veerapandiyan's wife, Sundara Chola's love interest”. Same reason as above.

Azhwarkkadiyan Nambi: it has not been categorically revealed in the movie in part I that he is a spy working for the chief minister (such a mention in the plot section of the wikipedia page is also questionable) (though Vandiya Thevan is shown to wonder about that during the chariot ride in Lanka, and in the actual novel the readers are made aware by this point in the storyline that Azhwarkadiyan is a spy through other events that the film has omitted). The request to edit is to remove the reference that he is such a spy.

Madurantakan: please remove references to “foster son of Sembiyan Mahadevi and Gandaraditya Chola, biological son of Veerapandiyan and Mandakini”. These have not been revealed in Part I and constitute a spoiler.

Sendan Amudan: please remove references to Uttama Chola and “biological son of Sembiyan Mahadevi and Gandaraditya Chola” for the same reason.

Veerapandiyan: please remove the phrase “Nandini and Madhurantakan's father and Oomai Rani's husband.” as these are not revealed in part 1.

Karuthiruman: please remove the phrase “who helped Veerapandiyan and Mandakini“ for the same reason.

Note: I realize the challenges in providing character descriptions for a two-part movie at a time when only one part has been made publicly available and it’s based on a widely popular novel where several secrets are likely to get revealed in part 2. Perhaps you can put a spoiler alert prominently in the page or else have it describe only as much of the characters as clearly known in part 1 and go back and edit it once part 2 is released. Difference of ponniyin selvan in books and movie

There are lot of changes in every scene of ponniyin selvan movie. That's why in movie it's mentioned as "based on Kalki's ponniyin selvan" however movie title is retained same. Changes I didn't mean by looks or shortened version for the sake movies, but change of scene itself, the characters in a scene/ a scene that is not part of book.
