Poly(p-phenylene oxide)

edit

There is a section in this article about PPO, which has its own page. I do not know enough about Wiki to know if this is appropriate, but I have seen references on other pages where the system links to the main article. "Excerpted from xxxx, main article". Can someone show me how or do this?Mstefaniak (talk) 18:23, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nomenclature: "R" vs "P"

edit

"They are characterized by indicating the substitution pattern of each ring, followed by the number of phenyl rings and the number of ether linkages. Thus, the structure in Figure 1 with n equal to 1 is identified as pmp5P4E, indicating para, meta, para substitution of the three middle rings, a total of 5 rings, and 4 ether linkages." which is consistent with the "positionsPnE" naming pattern in the later tables of examples. But the diagrams are all described using "R" instead of "P" in the name. What does that mean? DMacks (talk) 21:48, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
