What about adding Youtube/Internet type political cults

edit

Such as Zeitgeist or are they not considered relevant enough by the Wiki powers that be? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.87.96.135 (talk) 22:53, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chavismo as political cult

edit

It would seem that Chavismo is a political cult, all 6 points in the list apply, and it is multi-national. Just like Nazism it has a leader that has been associated with an narcissistic personality disorder, and the similarities are rather stunning, except for the actual policies, which - however - seem to be secondary to the cult features of the society. The thing is, though, that I have so far only found mentions of the "personality cult" of Chávez, and not any text that flat out says that "Chavismo is a cult". So my question is, include or not at this stage? --Dr Ulf Erlingsson (talk) 01:22, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Needs a source. With that no problem to include. Kitfoxxe (talk) 17:06, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Merge to Cult

edit

A political cult, as defined in this article, seems to be a type of cult, as defined in Cult. By merging the two articles readers would get all the information on cults in one place. (Political cults are not now covered in the main article.) This article is not so long and would work as a section in the main article. Kitfoxxe (talk) 17:06, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Opening sentence of Cult: "The word cult in current popular usage usually refers to a new religious movement or other group whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal or bizarre by the larger society." Kitfoxxe (talk) 17:07, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Makes sense to me too. At least Cult should have a section of political cults, maybe not all the examples. Borock (talk) 20:11, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I just pasted in the material to Cult but haven't redirected this one yet. I'll wait a couple days or so. Kitfoxxe (talk) 21:18, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
