BMW largest manufacturer edit

I would like to see better evidence that BMW is the largest manufacturer of police motorcycles. The article cited is simply a BMW press release. I don't believe that a claim by a manufacturer is sufficient to verify market position. --Cheesy Mike 17:45, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

- There are hardly any other motorcycle manufacturers in Germany that provide models for police use. In fact, if you check the homepages of the different Landespolizeien, you will see they all use BMW bikes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.138.78.92 (talk) 09:35, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please provide a citation for German police motorcycle use. --Cheesy Mike (talk) 10:02, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I can only refer to the German wikipedia article and the homepage of BMW (which was refused as a source), or the homepages of the respective German police forces.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.138.108.196 (talk) 13:25, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is probably wrong to say that the BMW source was refused, just not accepted as the definitive truth. If you look at the article you will see that I changed the text to say "BMW claimed to be the largest seller of motorcycles for authority use" and then cited their own press release. If you can find any German specific it would be really useful. --Cheesy Mike (talk) 14:05, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

photo edit

There is a photo on wikimedia commons of a 1965 500cc Triumph Speed Twin police motorcycle used by Liverpool City police force (UK). The photo is called Motorcycle, Birkenhead 5. Can this be uploaded to illustrate a British police motorcycle please ? 213.123.135.235 (talk) 23:23, 11 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Too many bikes edit

Biker Biker made a reasonable edit by removing a second British bike by saying it was "overkill." I followed his lead by removing the second photo of a Harley, which is a narrower definition than all British bikes. I was not "making a point." It just seemed to me that if two British bikes were too many, aren't two Harleys too many?

Please do not automatically assume evil intentions whenever I do something. That is not fair. Jeffrey M Dean (talk) 00:35, 23 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
