Needs third party sources

The article needs massive improvement with reliable third party sources. While there are a few, the important claims about membership, media coverage, etc need sourced better. This would establish notablity. We66er (talk) 17:01, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

The article has plenty of sources. Please don't add inappropriate tags to articles. Notability is plainly obvious so I don't know why you mention that. I already made the simple change that they claim a million members since obviously no one can independantly confirm that. There is no "massive" need here by any stretch of the imagination. 1) Please take the time and look at the tags before you remove them. The top tag reads: "This article or section needs sources or references that appear in reliable, third-party publications." Many of the sources are either the organization's webpage or blogs. These are not WP:RS. It's not the quantity, but the quality of the sources.

2) The two smaller tags for RS membership, which should be "third-party publications." (Yes, there are ways for the media to verify this. A common way is providing to the media receipts of organization's newsletters, which shows how many gets printed and mailed to the members.)

It has references from USA Today, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Cardplayer, Pokerlistings and Congressional sources. Do not add this tag again as it is on its face being used improperly. And you even seem to be asserting general interest newspapers are better than expert niche sources. That's just illogical in the extreme. If you want to question Pokernews or any source, then find at least three mistaken articles they have published out of thousands. If you re-add a tag that says the article has zero reliable sources, it will be removed immediately.
