Full Version
editAccording to my friend, he went to their website and it said that the person who did the graphics died, so they couldn't finish it. Is this true, I mean, did he find a reliable source, I can't find it. If it is true, why does it say here that there was a full version? Anyway, if what my friend found was true, please post a link. Post a link to the full version if it's false.
Cast list
editFrom the interview and what I can gather, here's somewhat of the cast list: (edited, September 30 2010, 22:38 CST)
- Lee Majdoub: Ash
- Kial Natale: Brock
- Rebecca Strom: Misty
- Gharret Patric Paon: James
- Julia Lawton: Jessie
- David Quast: Giovanni
- I am in the cast and corrected it. (22:38 September 30 2010 CST)
It looks like Julia Lawton played Misty, but still trying to confirm that. @_@--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:25, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Why delete this?
editThere is nothing on the talk page discussing deletion, so I feel that deletion is unnecessary. Why do we have that notice? GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 02:26, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- If you read the notice you would see the discussion is all here. Blake (Talk·Edits) 02:30, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Fake
editThis movie is fake. It is a fan-made movie disguised as a trailer. I even tried to look it up on Bulbapedia, but they didn't have it. When I asked about it, they said it was fake. SeanWheeler (talk) 01:12, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- We know. It's a fan-made trailer, it says it in the article; the creator never implies that it is real. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 01:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah Bulbapedia not covering stuff like this doesn't surprise me. However they're a wikia, and this is wikipedia: as it's a notable subject and short film, it works as an article here.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 02:05, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Bulbapedia isn't a Wikia; in fact, they've taken numerous steps to distance themselves as much as they can from that organization. Melicans (talk, contributions) 02:16, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hm. My bad there...though it begs the question then why they don't have some coverage on this of some sort.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 02:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Review by Ost316
editReviewer: Ost (talk) 16:18, 18 November 2010 (UTC) I made some small edits that I thought aided clarity or structure. Below are thoughts I had on more detailed parts.
- In the first paragraph, the second sentence and second to last sentence are pretty long and would likely read better split up.
- To me, "it was not due to technical difficulties" comes across like part of a garden path sentence, so maybe put a word like "shown" after "not".
- Is it possible to describe what it means to be a production like one of CollegeHumor's?
- "Settling on Pokémon ... on the subject" would probably read better if reorganized or split. Can you explain how approaching the film from mature standpoint resulted from displeasure with the trend and wanting to pushing the limits to shy of ridiculous. Were they separates goal to approach Pokémon maturely and make a dark reboot maturely?
- Maybe replace "mugged" or link to wiktionary; I could only tell the meaning from its context
- In general the article it pretty well written, but I have some trouble with how "trailer" is used. Is the film a fake trailer for a film that does not exist and is the e-mail preview then the trailer for the fake trailer? Often the article makes me feel like the film is a complete story. The synopsis in particular feels like a complete synopsis of the film described in the film instead of explaining that the film is structured as a trailer depicting the loose plot for a film. Only near the end of the development section and in the post-release comments does it become clear that the work is a fake trailer. I'd recommend specifying early that the film is structured like a trailer. Extra clarity may be gain with consistent use of "preview" or "trailer" for the "leaked" segment.
- Just a shout that I haven't been ignoring this, just been swamped lately...I'll try and get the remaining issues tended to tonight, however.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 14:46, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- I will probably go over it again in more detail, but from what I've seen so far I'm happy with the changes. The "structured as a trailer..." portion effectively clarifies the film as I thought it needed. —Ost (talk) 21:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

What's the status on this? Been a month since the last comment. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 06:16, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'll take over the review and post my concerns shortly. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 16:26, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
After reading through the article, I saw no further issues. I made a tweak that I saw myself, but besides that this was a very good article. Sounds like a very interesting film. I'm now passing the article as a GA. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 06:05, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Subjective Synopsis?
editMy interpretation of the events were that the bribe was part of a bigger deal for Ash to retire from Pokémon battling. But after a series of emotional breakdowns from the loss of identity as a Pokémon trainer, Ketchum returns the money while declaring that he will compete again (perhaps to try to get in some kind of "wildcard" for a tournament in which he threw the match). Ash intends to win the competition in attempt to overthrow Rocket Industries and clean up the sport of Pokémon battling to bring it back to its glory days. Misty joins Brock in questioning Ash's hopes of this happening, and even the idea of Pokémon battling as a whole. This conflict fosters intense arguments between Misty and Ash, and thus Ash's line of "when I've caught them all". At some point, Ash finds himself choosing his obsession with Pokémon training over love, just as Bruce Wayne did for crime fighting in Batman Begins. Seeing that this was clearly inspired in part by Christopher Nolan's work, I don't see why the correlation would be considered farfetched (please excuse the pun :)).
However, after comparing this with the Synopsis in Shogun Gamer's interview page that states that Ash needs decide to either be a Pokémon master under Rocket Industries "or make a desperate stand to free them all from the criminal grip of" the organization, I'm beginning to question the validity of this interpretation. Nevertheless, unless Natale, Majdoub, or anyone else closely involved in the project can confirm it, I don't think that this page should assume the context of certain details such as Ash and Misty's conversation at the end to the trailer. Why is this notable?
editWhat makes this fake movie trailer notable? SeanWheeler (talk) 21:32, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- That would be the number of reliable sources that covered it and are references in the article, as stated at WP:Notable. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 22:30, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Creative Commons?
editBoth the film's poster and the film itself contain symbols indicating it was released under the CC BY-NC license. Can this be confirmed and would it allow the film to be uploaded to Wikipedia? Dunkahoop (talk) 22:45, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
- Probably not due to the use of copyrighted characters.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 22:48, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
