Talk:Pocahontas Middle School

Quality of this Article edit

This article reads like an advertisement for the school, and not an encyclopedia article. I think it's fine for statistics on the success rate of pupils to be published, since it's relevant, but:

"The athletic department at Pocahontas wants to ensure that students are able to express their talents. Pocahontas's athletic department has grown steadily over the years."

"Recently at the Musicale hosted by Busch Gardens, Pocahontas's jazz band took home a grand champion trophy."

The second quotation isn't as bad, since it states a fact about the school that might well be worth making, but the word "Recently" just serves to support my accusation that this page is not only redundant, but a shameless advertisement for some bloody middle school in America.

This article's quality is so bad I'm not even going to try to fix it. It will probably require a complete rewrite to be anything near accurate or encyclopediac.

The sports section was obviously written by some one who has never even considered that an encyclopedia might have standards. At the end it says "Go Hawks." This obviously needs to be either deleted or rewritten. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Da.bus56 (talkcontribs) 02:17, 19 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the recent POV addition and will keep a closer eye on this article. Jusdafax 12:39, 19 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Persistent Vandalism by Multiple Anonymous Users edit

Is there anyway to lock an article so that registered users can edit it, but not anonymous users? Pi3832 12:07, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Ask an admin. --Pilot|guy 19:55, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's done. --Pilot|guy 00:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed Redirect edit

This article has only one reference, and it is primary source (self-published). More importantly the article neither asserts notability nor appears to meet the general notability guidelines. I recommend redirecting it to Henrico County Public Schools. JoeSperrazza (talk) 03:45, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
