In the lecture linked towards the bottom of page 2 will be found the words "by his Will of 1704 Dr Plume founded the Professorship of Natural Philosophy and Astronomy at Cambridge University" I appreciate that this is not a link to the will itself but hope this is acceptable to the Wikipedians. Having attended one of the author's Workers' Educational Association courses shortly before his death I have absolutely no doubt that the author Dr W.J.Petchey would have been thoroughly familiar with the will itself. In fact he made a life time study of Thomas Plume, Maldon and at the time of his death was Librarian of the Plume Library in Maldon. In fact I suspect that Bill Petchey will remain one of the historic town of Maldon's foremost historians and benefactor of knowledge for many a long year, possibly as long as Thomas Plume who died in 1704 and yet due to the work of disciples like Bill Petchey has left a still extant 17th century library, much as it was established in 1704.
