Playas de Rosarito Municipality (Baja California)Rosarito Beach MunicipalityRelisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:34, 28 July 2011 (UTC) This article was moved to Playas de Rosarito Municipality (Baja California) with the rationale that this is English wikipedia, however, this is the official name of the municipality not the name of a beach,. First of all this move was not discussed and second of all the official name is not always the title of the article. Common examples include in cities the article title is never Cidade do São Paulo or Villa de Madrid but São Paulo and Madrid. Others include counties; Mexico is located at Mexico, not the United Mexican States, or rather the Spanish language version of that title. To the best of my knowledge common English usage shows Rosarito Beach Municipality to be the common name.08OceanBeachS.D. 09:27, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Indeed was moved by you without any disscusion from the its official name to Rosarito Beach Municipality, however, the accurate name in English is Rosarito Beaches Municipality, the municipal seat is colloquially known as Rosarito Beach but the name is just Rosarito, the wikipedia articles should use their real names and not their colloquial names; others examples of articles using its official names in a foreign language are the Quebec Regions,--Jcmenal (talk) 14:42, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
It was moved because the city article was moved to the same title. Yet Wikipedia's stance is to use the common name, to assist the reader in locating the article. As far as the Quebec articles are concerned, the names of those regions are also the common names. Within reason, on English Wikipedia common English usage should be used on article titles. 08OceanBeachS.D. 21:14, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Neutral (almost). In the discussion to move the city's page to Rosarito Beach last year, I noted that there may be no common English name for the municipality. Both can be found in similar numbers in English. So to me, either name is acceptable. However - in either case, the "Baja California" should be removed, since it's unnecessary to disambiguate here.
