There is a thread at the Mudcat Cafe, a major collection/discussion site for folk and older popular music, on this song. It mentions the strong similarity of the tune to the song Little Boxes, and the song's possible relationship to the song Lazarus Long sings in Robert A. Heinlein's book Time Enough for Love. I presume the line ""Little Boxes", recorded in 1952, features a melody nearly identical to Reynolds's 1962 song." should read ""Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania", recorded in 1952...".
