- Oppose I fail to see what part of this title is especially clunky. And I don't like the suggestion- imo it implies these guys are 1. pitchers, 2. a group of some sort and 3. an MLB position, none of which are true. Nohomersryan (talk) 07:06, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
The article pitcher concerns the position. Pardon the plosiveness, but perhaps a preference for position player pitcher (singular)? White 720 (talk) 13:15, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

- I’m curious to see a draft. There’s not much that we can say (with sources) about position players on their own, so I’m concerned that the “pitching” section would dominate a merged article. White 720 (talk) 04:44, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

- Support As a baseball fan, the title feels accurate. However, if it is confusing for non-fans, the suggestion by Tevildo is good. Maybe something like Use of position players as pitchers. Neonblak talk - 15:33, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Support Pitching by position players. A plural noun is probably fine here, but the act is singular, so in the current order it seems unwieldy. Dekimasuよ! 07:32, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
