Paper
editIn the cited nature-paper is not a sigle word to be found, that a Homo sapiens was discovered there; the paper is only dealing with the legacies of unknown members of archaic H. sapiens. I suggest that the authors of this Wikipeda article in the future should read a paper before they start to write about it. --De.Gerbil (talk) 14:34, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree, and have moved the article to Pinnacle Point, rather than Pinnacle Point Man. --TeaDrinker (talk) 05:43, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
When we visited there two months ago, our guide told us that the first remains did not include shellfish, as the caves at that time were about 50 kms from the coast. The land in front of them was a plain, the Agulhas Plain, filled with game animals, and the remains contained animal bones. The ocean and shellfish appeared when the ice sheets melted and the ocean rose. --[User:Riverbend Bill] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Riverbendbill (talk • contribs) 19:35, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Sources and Necessary Updates
editResearch beyond 2010 should be referenced on this page, such as this article on glacial cycling that might impact deposition of shells (as referenced by Riverbendbill) and this article on human behavior traces. Additionally, more independent sources should be consulted beyond Dr. Marean Curtis's work, perhaps more generalized sources on South Africa's evidence of early modern human behavior should be utilized. -- BavanR00 (talk) 02:58, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
