There seems to be some conflict here. This is my first article so I didn't add much because I don't know all the guidelines yet. I went to get more information on the subject, but when I came back I found a speedy deletion tag on my article. It said I didn't have enough information on the subject. I clicked edit this page, added more info, and when I saved it the speedy deletion warning disappeared. I did not remove it and if I did, I didn't know that. I'm new here. If you're going to complain about my article look at other articles. Some state police articles I've visited have only one or two sentences. I don't know why you guys are complaining to me. I'll add more when I get the information. If you want to check more of my new articles go to *List of law enforcement agencies in Montana. I didn't write the Billings PD and the Montana State Patrol articles. I would appriciate it if an administrator would contact me. Thank You.

Notability

edit

This article does not have reliable source citations to establish notability ... link's to the subject's website do not qualify as WP:RS citations ... and signatures belong at the end of a post, not at the beginning. —68.239.79.97 (talk · contribs) 12:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am working on this article and would like some leeway as the article is improved. I think it has improved considerably since inception. Furthermore, some of the citations mentioned are official government website, so some weight should be given to their authority. This kind of citation may carry more weight than a corporate webpage of press releases. Furthermore, I can see a number of articles which have remained for months that have few, if any citations. Just because the department has a funny name, Pigeon, we shouldn't laugh and think that the article is a joke.VK35 02:23, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

More information added, more citations added, notability tag removed but I did add a "stub" tag so that the article is marked..okay? VK35 02:38, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's ridiculous that someone tried to speedy delete this. Thousands of Wikipedia articles don't have proper citations yet, which is why they are class as stubs, etc. Most articles begin this way, and even the best ones were draft versions at some point. Sometimes the notability of the subject is bleeding-obvious. Wherever you live, the local police force is notable. If some of the deletionists spent more time developing articles instead of trying to get new ones deleted, a lot less volunteer time and energy would be wasted on Wikipedia and its quality would improve faster.
Good job, VK35. If you're planning on doing more work on police articles, you might consider checking out WikiProject Law Enforcement and maybe signing up as a participant. Let us know on the talk page there if you have any more problems. bobanny 08:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

Low importance. The topic is ony relevant on a local level.

==Quality==

Stub class. The article is structured and referenced. However, most references are from the Pigeon Forge Police Department's own website. Try to introduce more third party information.
