Is this guy encyclopedic?

edit

I'm an occasional user of wikipedia, but I happen to live in Italy and consider myself sufficiently well informed on my country to say that mr. Odifreddi is universally considered a kind of loon, no more than a television personality of sort without any significant contribution to his pretended field of study. He is known only by his harsh (and often ignorant and very offensive) views on Catholic religion and his lame and uncouth political and social comments. I don't know why such a person should be considered encyclopedical at all especially outside of Italy: given his scarcely significant scientific work, his only claim to notability are his personal and often offensive opinions (against the Church, Israel, women and so on). Odifreddi is a kind of troll desperately trying to be spoken about: does this make him notable enough? 87.2.132.52 (talk) 21:35, 11 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
