Notability?

edit

I didn't add the Notability|biographies template, but let's discuss it. WP:BIO says "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." At present we have citations of coverage by Cynthia Karena and Liz Tay focussing primarily on Waugh, together with Rodney Gedda on Waugh Partners business activities. Where is the notability problem here? Reliability or independence? (I am not committed to the POV that Waugh is notable, but anti-notability arguments also need to make their case.) Does the article suggest anything of any note that she's done? Developed distinctive policy? Created any sort of notablee software? Organised or worked on any significant social movement or group? What's notable about this entry in any way at all?

She pretty much single-handedly built Linux Australia, which is a pretty prominent software organisation in Australia as these things go. Finding a source that allows that to be cited is perhaps another question. Thayvian (talk) 11:06, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
