Singular or plural edit
The sections from ==Regulation== talk abouy PLA2 as if it were a single substance. Is this just out of date ? Rod57 (talk) 12:07, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that is out of date. Much of the old literature (and even some current articles) simply say "PLA2" when referring to cPLA2alpha (PLA2G4A). The current statements in ==Regulation== are misleading in that they are only referring to this one enzyme. Malvolio6 (talk) 18:53, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
The first part of ==Cytosolic phospholipases A2 (cPLA2)== is not entirely accurate. The cPLA2 (group IV) and iPLA2 (group VI) families are both intracellular. Five of the six cPLA2 isoforms contain the C2 domain, although one member of this family (cPLA2gamma, aka PLA2G4C) lacks the C2 domain, thus it is not calcium dependent and not as large (541 residues). The cPLA2 (group IV) and iPLA2(group VI) families are both intracellular. This could probably be cleared up and referenced with one of the Dennis or Leslie review papers. The article seems to indicate that melittin is found in snake venom. I don't think that's right... Snake wine doesn't taste like honey at all.
