Merging. And sources? edit
I concur with not merging this article with the “the Patriots” article.
Furthermore, requiring sources on this article seems to me a little farfetched. Perhaps it is possible, but as far as I know, this information is given to you gradually as you play the Metal Gear series. So, unless you consider fan sites verifiable sources...
I believe this article should be merged with that of "The Patriots" and that the whole article should be headlined "The Philosophers". In fact we still don't know what happened to the Chinese and Russian branch of "The Philosophers", all we know is that "The Patriots" are (or were) a part of "The Philosophers" and as such the article that deals with informaton regarding "The Patriots" should be a part of the article regarding "The Philosophers". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.155.141.18 (talk • contribs) .
Don't merge. These are two different groups, that are dealt with in different games. There's enough to be said about each to make it worthwhile having two seperate articles. User:Valenkorps

It should not be merged. The Philosophers are a collection of the US, USSR and China, or rather, The Wiseman's Committee. The Patriots formed after the disban of The Philosophers from the US side. So they are two different groups. [Template:Unsigned]

Proposed Deletion edit
If this page is to be deleted, then all the surrounding fancruft around MGS3 would have to be. It's plainly infeasible and would result in an overall loss of data for Wikipedia; this is a reasonable article on the topic it covers. --AlexWCovington (talk) 16:08, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
