A musician or ensemble

Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city;

Philip was the representative of the Delhi Gharana School of music in Trichur, Kerala and he had numerous disciples who were learning Tabla under him.

Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network.Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network

He has performed in All India Radio, Doordarshan, Kairali, Asianet as an accompanist on the Tabla for many leading singers like S.Janaki, P. Jayachandran, Gayatri Asokan, Pradip Somasundaran and performed as a Ghazal singer in many of the Television channels.

He was a graded Artist of All India Radio both as a Tabla player and as a composer and his compositions used to be regularly broadcast in the All India Radio.

He was a major influence on many of the music directors of the younger generation like Alphonse Joseph and Gayatri Asokan "Piano" an organisation in his memory was inaugurated by "S Janaki" the noted playback singer of India. The function was marked by the presence of his teachers Ustad Fiyaz Khan, Vijaya Verma, Bishop Mar Aprem, and other luminiaries like playback singers, gayatri, Pradip Somasundaran, Jyotsna and others. This itself is the proof that he was notable.
