Biography content removed from page to resolve copyright infringements. Michaelhaverland (talk) 22:00, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Except that there's still a complete copy of [1] and if you delete that you have no content to speak of. I'd recommend a quick rewrite that indicates why he's notable without the copyright violation. VernoWhitney (talk) 23:33, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and removed the rest of the copyvio since you didn't seem so inclined. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:21, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
IRL Michael Haverland is Philip Galanes's boyfriend/partner, and we might assume from that that Galanes page was created by Michaelhaverland as an autobiography more or less, and as Haverland's page was created by an employee of his, James Nelson who has only edited Galanes's page in addition, we should pretty much assume that it also is a self promotional puff piece. How about nominating all the above for deletion? 96.224.37.144 (talk) 16:03, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

A notability flag was placed on this article at the same time as a substantial bibliography was removed. While I don't disagree with the latter change, it does not seem that this is a vanity article given the subject is a published novelist who writes an ongoing column in a newspaper of record. I would like to remove the flag but want to see if anyone else has strong opinions. Angio (talk) 14:26, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I agree, the flag should be removed. There is significant coverage from reliable sources which are independent of the subject. And the notability discussion is independent from whether the article was written by someone close to the subject or whether it infringes copyright, these matters are separate. ~~~~ Eco2022 (talk) 06:25, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
