I've been assigned this article to edit and reorganize. I'll be making editions to each section and adding new sections including a roster/schedule, a timeline to highlight the fact that the original team and the 1887 team were not related except by name, and also a photograph of Catto because of his importance to the team. I will also change the "Fighting Racism" heading to "Team Legacy" and split the "History and Founders" section into two. I will also try to address the disagreement about the team such as the year it as founded. Some of the citations also need to be clarified or removed because of link rot.
Hello, @Dillon B.: It's good to see someone else taking an interest in some of the Negro league articles. I edit from a dynamic IP so the edits in the article history from the 64.85.xxx.xxx IP are me. I like the looks of the article you have in your sandbox, but I think the continuum graph isn't necessary. I made that continuum for the Chicago American Giants franchise a few years back to show all of the mergers and splits, but I think it is unneeded here. Since the gap represents two separate franchises, the teams should be treated as unrelated teams, as done with the St. Louis Stars (baseball)#NAL reincarnates, Detroit Stars#Reincarnates#Decline, demise and reincarnates and Indianapolis ABCs. You might want to split off the 1887 team into a distinct article, or just add it at the bottom of this article as a "Reincarnate" or some such. I've already updated the infobox to distinguish the original team only. Rgrds. (Dynamic IP, will change when I log off) --64.85.216.73 (talk) 15:59, 7 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
@64.85.216.73: Thanks for the suggestion. I really just wanted to emphasize the fact that there were two Pythian teams. I thought if I could represent this visually it would be less confusing to people. It might be hard to make a separate article for the 1887 team, the only references I've seen about it are in the closing statements of sources about the original Pythians, one or two sentences at the most. I might just emphasize it more in the History section. Dillon B. (talk) 19:39, 7 May 2017 (UTC)Dillon B.Reply
