Article needs to be merged edit

This article just duplicates much of the first few sections of the Christian City Church article. The repeated content should either be removed from that article, or this article should be deleted. I would propose that the detailed content about them in the CCC article should be moved to here - normally most church leaders would not want so much material about themselves up-front in an article on their church. Writing style edit

Assuming this article stays, the style is too POV and there are a lot of non-encyclopedic sentences. The lack of hyperlinking still suggests this article's roots in copy+pasted text. What is the point of parts like the second sentence of: "In 1980 the Pringle family moved to Sydney to establish the Oxford Falls Christian Church. The church has grown significantly in that time" - of course it has grown significantly, it didn't exist in 1980 if it was "established" then! Halsteadk 21:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • There is nothing POV about that statement, growth from 12 to 6000 could hardly be described as anything other then significant. I used that word to avoid using anything I thought would be considered POV as I consider the word significant to be fairly neutral. To not include a statement about the churches growth would be considered POV in my opinion. Perhaps the wording could be changed margionally to make the statement more readable. user:russellocarroll

Copyright Infringement edit

Phil Pringle and CCCOF may not mind, but this page is largely a copy of the one at http://www.ccc.org.au/default.asp?page=PAXaboutpp and therefore probably violates their copyright.

The information from ccc.org.au is reproduced here with permission. Further information can be obtained by contacting the ccc.org.au webmaster.

This is not good enough in itself - they must be happy for the text to be re-edited and unattributed to them.Halsteadk 22:31, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced allegations edit

There are several examples of allegations and other statements that need citing, in one paragraph in particular but also elsewhere. I have tried to tag each of these, and I believe the lack of references is significant enough to warrant tagging the entire article. Halsteadk 22:29, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why is Kong Hee listed? Does he have some sort of relationship here? If so why is this not mentioned elsewhere in the text?

Doctoral Degree edit

What specifically is Phil Pringle a Doctor of? From what University did he graduate? Quote "Dr. Phil Pringle – Doctorate

‘The Doctorate I received from New Covenant University http://www.ncuonline.net/ and was awarded Doctrate of Philosophy after completing a 5 year thesis on the book of Acts.’

Dr. Pringle also completed his MastersRFPW (talk) 10:40, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

This leads one to ask "What did Pringle do before he arrived in Sydney in 1980?" - Biographical information elsewhere on the internet says that he is a New Zealander. This article leads with a statement that he is an Australian. Which is it? Is he a Kiwi or Aussie? What was his life before Sydney? This is meant to be a biography of a person, not the description of the church he founded. Haryadoon (talk) 08:00, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

WHO??? edit

Who is this Matt that is mentioned as being married to his daughter? Why is he important enough to get a mention, with no last name or mention elsewhere in the article? Matthew is the wife of Rebekah, Phil Pringle's daughter and is mentioned as he is a part of the family.RFPW (talk) 10:39, 27 August 2014 (UTC) 124.186.243.171 (talk) 13:08, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't take it for granted that Wikipedia readers will understand your abbreviations. Why square rather than round brackets? Koro Neil (talk) 00:25, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tithing section edit

Moved this section here after a dispute with an editor on the C3 Church Global page. The only citation about the content was from Pringle directly, so I moved it here. Would love to hear from other editors if they feel a single quote from a 10 year old book is noteworthy enough to warrant a mention to define a position that is common within evangelical circles.

Also, watch out for anon editor 220.244.57.53 who seems to be determined to prove that tithing is unbiblical via Phil Pringle's Wikipedia page. User consistently adds uncited content and seems to be making biased agenda-based edits. Eventhewise (talk) 03:04, 10 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removal of content per BLP edit

I have removed this sentence as the source doesn't actually say what the sentence is (in any format), and to deduce it from the material in the source is a violation of WP:OR. As this is negative content in a biography, WP:BLP dictates that the sourcing needs to be impeccable for claims like this, which clearly isn't the case here. Per Wikipedia:BLP#Restoring_deleted_content, consensus needs to be established that the sources are suitable and the content phrased appropriately before re-adding the content, hence why I just re-reverted.
