As you've probably noticed, I didn't know if "Category: Names of Semitic origin" exists and was afraid it might not, but I was & still am hoping for positive input, i.e. which categ. does apply? Norris suggests, w/o getting explicit about it, that it's a Nabataean name (more Arabic, or rather Aramaic?), but not too popular among nomads of the peripheral parts of the Nab. realm, and he argued against a Hebrew origin. It's also not a modern name. So no option available? Semitic origin is safe, Nab. origin quite probable. Arabic is a bit misleading, ancient Arabic might go. So? Thank you!
