I am trying to get the original files from the National Park Service constituting the application for National Monument status, as well as supporting photos. There's absolutely no information about what Tribal peoples created these images, how old they are, almost any of the history... this page is pretty worthless. Unfortunately, I was coming to it to find out more about the monument, so I can't add any of that information. This monument is scheduled to be bisected by a four-lane highway in order to allow the mayor of Albuquerque to say that he is doing something about the sprawl caused by his campaign developers. I will try to come back when I have more time to write up a discussion of this controversy. Meanwhile, here is a discussion of the controversy, the first reasonably coherent one I can find. There are surely others though; the story has had coverage here and ya, this is not the best source as it is a personal page and liable to a) be questioned as to accuracy and b) become abandoned. If anyone is interested in researching this before i can get to it, search terms would be Martin Chavez, Paseo del Norte Extension and West Mesa Albuquerque Pueblo ancestors and Apache traditions. There is no doubt coverage at www.alibi.com and on The Albuquerque Journal website, which is unfortunately limited to subscribers. Try the Albuquerque Tribune.

"Other controversies" section

Most of the "Other controversies" section seems to have been copied verbatim or nearly verbatim from a PEER press release. More sources, potentially with differing points of view, should be added to ensure that this section is not one-sided (see WP:NPOV). The section may also need to be rewritten to avoid plagiarism unless PEER has released the press release into the public domain or under a Wikipedia-compatible license (see WP:COPYPASTE). Taking it under my wing

Hi guys! I recently joined Wikipedia to start editing pages for a class project and I decided to work on this article because I live very close to this monument and grew up basically next door to it. This subject has a lot of meaning and background to me, so I am trying to do my best to make this article better. I've started adding more information to the page about the monuments geologic history and cultural significance. I hope to add more information as i discover more sources. Additionally, i am aware of the major bit of plagiarism within the controversies section, and I plan to do my best to rectify it in the future with more edits as i find more reliable sources. Wish me luck. If anyone has any comments or disagreements with what I have written so far, feel free to edit and add your own content as well.
