Removal of info edit

Ghirlandajo has removed a section because: "(rm inane section full of crap: the largest collection of his paintings was held by the Hermitage Museum, prior to the Bolshevik lootings)" This is the "inane section full of crap" in question:

Dutch Golden Age edit

It is mentioned in the first sentence of the article that Rubens lived "lived during the Dutch Golden Age". Though this is true, I think it is an irrelevant piece of information, and should certainly not be in the opening sentence: Rubens wasn't Dutch, he never lived in the Dutch Republic, and his art has never been classified as belonging to the Dutch school (e.g., he isn't even mentioned in the Wikipedia article about Dutch Golden Age painting, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Golden_Age_painting). Saying this in the opening sentence is, in my opinion, as wrong as saying the same about Velazquez or Caravaggio: whilst factually true, completely irrelevant and out of context. Thus, I propose removing this final part of the opening sentence. --82.69.14.92 (talk) 17:56, 12 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough, but I hope you are not one of those woke zealots who want to remove DGA everywhere. Johnbod (talk) 21:48, 12 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
