Questioning the relevance of this article, considering there are no less than 10 recognisable new reporters in Australia, peter is only a regional presenter what did he do to be important enough to warrant an article. See WP:LOCALFAME - "because a subject is lesser known or even completely unknown outside a given locality does not mean the subject is not notable". He was very well known in Canberra. This is supported by the cited references. 203.7.140.3 (talk) 02:27, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The ABC Canberra blog mentions that when he presented the breakfast program on 2CA, the last few minutes was pre recorded so he could get to work at the NCDC (over the road) on time. I understand (but I stand to be corrected) that Peter Leonard wasn't the first WIN TV newsreader in the Canberra and Region area although of course he was the longest serving.
