Moving this here from the "Plot" section:
- The film deals with themes of friendship, marriage, fidelity, materialism, and coping with death and loss. It has often been described as a British The Big Chill. The character of Peter Morton was loosely based on Nicholas Eden, 2nd Earl of Avon.
The first sentence probably belongs in the lead, but requires a citation to avoid being deleted as OR. The remaining sentences sound more like trivia as well as OR, and need to be rewritten, relocated and sourced.
