protection detail edit

According to an article in a London magazine, Princesses Beatrice and Eugiene have been stripped of their 24-hr. security protection because of the high costs and bad publicity associated with tours they undertook in 2008 and 2009. They are only to recieve protection when carrying out royal duties on behalf of the Queen, and at events with the remander of the Royal Family. Also as an interesting aside to perhaps add and cite on their pages, the Queen has told HRH Duke of York that his daughters will have to find jobs and will only carry out limited public duties as working royals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.5.100 (talk) 22:54, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

minor royals edit

Does anyone know if the minor royals: the Kents, the Cambridges, the Gloucesters, the Michaels, and Alexandra have protection? An article two years ago said that Alexandra still had a full protection detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.123.216 (talk) 21:46, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wessexes edit

I have read reports in newspapers that the minor members of the Family: the Queen's cousins, and the Queen's youngest son and his wife as well as their children, have lost full-time protection and only recieve armed PPOs when carrying out official engagements after a security review. However the Duke of York still resists stripping Beatrice and Eugiene of their protection officers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.6.182 (talk) 13:25, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

for the last time edit

For the last time, the Princesses Beatrice and Eugiene no longer recieve close protection from SO14! Their protection was axed after Eugiene took her degree from Newcastle University. The Duke of York pays private protection officers out of his own pocket for his daughters' security. 74.69.11.229 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:49, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Andrew edit

I highly doubt that the Duke of York has 24-hour protection with him anymore. If he does, why was he challenged by two police officers in the Buckingham Palace Gardens on Sept. 8th? For that matter, Prince George of Cambridge needs to be added, as 50 armed personal protection officers have been assigned to the future King for his security. 74.69.9.224 (talk) 19:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Recipients of protection edit

It's interesting coming to this page and noting that most of the debate in the past has been about who receives protection. I have in fact just removed the list of protectees on the basis that there is simply no reliable source for it, and it appears to be mostly speculation. I'd love to see a source for this, but until we do, let's just leave it out of the page.--Hugsyrup (talk) 12:10, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
