Talk:Persian Gates

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Ekem in topic Why plural?

"In the last weeks of 331 BCE, it was the site of the fierce Battle of Persian Gate, in which the Macedonian Emperor Alexander the Great was almost defeated by the last Achaemenid troops commanded by Ariobarzan." Isn't it a bit misleading to say Alexander was almost defeated? I think it would be more proper to say he faced stiff resistance or something similar. Does anyone disagree or should I correct it?89.210.162.151 (talk) 14:27, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
