Maker's Mark

Isn't Maker's Mark quite clearly owned by Fortune Brands/Beam Global now? I believe Sept 30, 2005 Fortune was cleared for ownership. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.176.139.231 (talk) 02:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

No 51?

Hey, there needs to be an entry for 51 (the Pastis).--Timdownie 20:50, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, this is Wikipedia, so you know what to do: be bold!. (Also consider updating the Pastis article.)

Boodles British Gin

Does anyone know if Penrod Richard makes Boodles Gin?

My guess is that Penrod Richard obtained some assets from The Seagram Company Ltd. That might have included Boodles Gin. Can anyone confirm this? What other brands did they get from Seagram?

The only reason I'm interested is Boodles is my favorite Gin and it's not easy to find in the U.S.

Fair use rationale for Image:Pernod Ricard.jpg

Image:Pernod Ricard.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

The drink: Pernod

I see that "Pernod" redirects to this page, which then fails to mention the drink "Pernod" itself, e.g. [1] . This is a rather glaring omission! Pernod itself should be added as a new page, and should no longer redirect here. Fig (talk) 19:17, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Good catch! I'd suggest creating Pernod (drink) and/or 51 (drink) and leaving the redirect as it is. Then add links from this article to the newly-created articles.
There's a teeny bit of information at the 51 (disambiguation) page; don't forget to modify that as well.

Trivia section

I have moved this section here as I fear I cannot see any point in either of the items:

  • In the Fawlty Towers episode "The Wedding Party", while in the lounge, the character Mrs. Peignoir asks Basil for a 'Ricard', to which he replies "I think we've just run out..."
  • In The movie "Gotcha" the main character asks for a "pernod" not knowing what it is.
