Lets drop any information on her ancient parsi/zoroastrian/irani background since it's certainly not the point here. Please discuss before putting anything on the article related to that. Also can anyone confirm her year of birth with a link or reference? She definitely does not seem to be 33 years of age. --CaptainRon 13:20, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I've been told by everyone with confidence that she is Parsi, and her name certainly is quite Persian. If I'm wrong, then of course delete this. Khirad 02:19, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

-Actually she is not a Parsi, but she is an Indian Zoroastrian, of IRANI background. Iranis are Indian Zoroastrians who, unlike the Parsis, emigrated from Persia/Iran within the last one or two centuries, as recently as the 20's. They are more closer to Iranian Zoroastrians culturally and linguistically and they actually speak the Iranian Zoroastrian dialect of Persian, Dari, different from Afghan Dari. Her name, Zorabian, is definetely the kind of name found among modern Iranian Zoroastrians, with and "ian" at the end of the last name. Many Iranis, however, use their ethnic term Irani as a surname unto itself. She should be classified as Irani. --User: Afghan Historian

--Now as the originator of this Article on Wikipedia, I would like to bring it to the notice of those claiming Perizaad to be Zoroastrian Irani, Perizaad herself in her interview made the statement, "I am just a decent Parsi girl, and would never do anything Vulgar on screen (and laughed)". Parsis are Zoroastrians! But if she is a Parsi, then why is her name Zorabian? That sounds a lot more like an Irani name than a Parsi name.

--Fine, you may be correct, but is it right to tag her Zoroastrian when she herself doesn't use it? Talking of History, you could trace all zoroastrians to be the followers of the Vedic culture and hence deem them ancient hindus of 3000BC(I am not claiming so, just putting an probable example). So matter of factly, we must stick to the universally accepted facts. When she calls herself a Parsi on a TV Show (interview), who are we to debate her origins? And anyhow, how does her origins matter at all? Present is what matters. Parsis are followers of Zoroastrianism! Come on. India has the largest population of Zarathushtis in the world. And Vedic Hindus arent the ancestors of Zoroastrians. Zoroastrians and Hindus both stem from a common Aryan ancestor. Hindus are more a sister people to Zoroastrians than ancestors of them. Nevertheless Parsi implies Zoroastrian so its redundant saying Parsi Zoroastrian. -User: Afghan Historian

-- Just to add my two cents, using the term "Irani" would be confusing and misleading as that is also used to refer to any Iranian and requires a disambiguation explanation which further complicates the matter. I think most well-read, educated people would know and assume that Parsis are Zoroastrians (going back to the reason they migrated after the Arab conquest and all that). • With respect to my recent change, I didn't realize that the issue "Parsi versus Irani" was already being "discussed" here, and as is evident from the comments here, warrants explanation:

1. Neither Parsi nor Irani is a nationalist label.

2. Both the Parsis and Iranis are Indian Zoroastrian communities.

The difference lies in when they came to India; the Parsis being the older group and the Iranis being the 18th century and later group. The differences (originally for legal reasons, see Parsi people for details) are not usually known by those outside the two communities, but because almost everyone knows what a Parsi is (with its inherent connotation of Zoroastrian), the Iranis often spare themselves a 30-minute discussion by simply identifying themselves as Parsis.

Personal Life

The details mentioned in the 'Personal Life' section don't all seem relevant, as there seems to be an extensive list of all the events that Perizaad has attended and all the causes that she supports. While all the information provided is adequately supported by references, I don't think that all of it is applicable in the aforementioned section, which in my opinion should only include information about her family, and hobbies, if any. If the information mentioned is deemed to be relevant, I can help reword the section and abridge it, if need be. CBhat109 (talk) 13:34, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
