Skansen?

What's a skansen?

The link in the text points to a museum in Sweden -- I take it "skansen" is meant to be an artefact, a living fossil or such. But I don't know what it exactly means. -- Syzygy 06:49, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Seems like the interwiki link from pl wiki is broken. In Polish, pl:skansen refers to something like a specific type of an open air museum (ethographic museum) - I will have to think of the specific, correct translation when I wake up. Am I the only one who thinks that the tone of the article is a bit too enthusiastic? I haven't read the book, so I can't really comment on it, but all in all it sounds more like an Amazon cover blurb to me than a real discussion. -- Syzygy 06:49, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

English copy available?

I went looking on Amazon.com and they seem to not have anything by said author available. I was wondering if there was an english translation out or if one is proposed. Ramius V. Schweitzer 18:45, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

One of the reasons I wrote this article is to point out that there are good books (and writers) who are not translated into English. I sincerly hope this will change soon - not only because I want Polish authors published but because I want to read Japanese or Russian sci-fi without the need to learn all those languages :) Only about 2 and a half short stories by Dukaj were translated so far, with 1 being published in an anthology, and halves of two others being online (see his article for details and links).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus ^Talk 18:50, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to say thank you, @Piotrus:. This article was part of the inspiration for my creation of Category:Literature not translated into English. I fully agree that more attention should be given to non-English works, and their translation should be promoted. Please add any other articles that might be relevant!

Ideal Imperfection

"Perfect Imperfection" seems inappropriate to me. The original title does not repeat the same word twice, it's not "Doskonała niedoskonałość". I think "Ideal Imperfection" (no articles!) is a much better translation - can we just get rid of the "Perfect Imperfection" thing altogether please? Hburdon 19:59, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

"Convergention"
