A controversial player in South Africa around 2001 edit

As I recall the reason he went to Wales was that his career in RSA went down the tubes after a series of embarrassing errors in the Tri Nations, and although having some support in Springboks coaching ranks he couldn't be picked to play especially in the Boer heartland where he was extremely unpopular and would be booed by Afrikaaner fans in particular. Perhaps if there's a reference to back this up it should go in. Rexparry sydney 00:47, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's true, I remember a test against the AB's in Bloemfontein where he was booed. The NZ commentaters were putting it down in a large part to his name and as I recall were pretty critical of the whole SA team. I also remember he was told he was too small to even play fly half, despite his talents, hence the fact got a lot bigger thanks to creatine but I can't a reference for either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ir5ac (talkcontribs) 07:02, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Walvis Bay Political Status edit

In 1974, according with Wikipedia, Walvis Bay was a territory of the Republic of South Africa. So, technically, Percy Montgmorey always was a South African citizen, since only in 1994, Walvis Bay was integrated in Namibia.85.243.71.218 (talk) 15:38, 17 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

its a strange one. i think it should say South-West Africa, because it was considered illegal occupation of namibia by south africa 81.102.54.134 (talk) 15:15, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
