Don't take a writer's stereotypical observation to be the fact. Pocky day started on 1999 because it was the 11th year of Heisei and this meant all the number of the calendar was 11. Nobody would care what a copycat competitor does. Revth 02:03, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Since the "Pepero Day Sweet for Retailers" section was lifted wholesale from the JoongAng daily piece cited on the bottom of the article, I reverted to the last edit that doesn't completely copy the article (before the violating section was added.)
