Proposed merge of Peperino with this page edit

I recently came across the Peperino article, which is just an alternative spelling of peperite and describes the same rock type, according to this comprehensive review paper. Peperite is the commonly used name and this page has more content, hence the proposal to merge here. Mikenorton (talk) 21:28, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hadn't seen that one, agree with merge. Vsmith (talk) 00:17, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't agree. From a geologist's point of view this may be correct, but in the dimension stone industry, Peperino specifically refers to the Italian volcanic tuff from Viterbo. Peperite is, as I percieve, formed out of a type of magma coming in contact with water. Tuff is a volcanic sediment, which is something quite different. But even if the two would be identical, though, Peperino would still be a specific name for Viterbo tuff. Please keep the two separate, for if I were to look something up on Peperino stone, for use in the restoration of a building, I would want specific information about this dimension stone. Added to that, in several other Wikipedia projects Peperino is mentioned (with the same images). I would like to keep the interwiki links. But if the two are identical, it would be very sensible to cross-reference them both. Greetings, --Satrughna (talk) 15:39, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
I suggest to remove the merge tag. Haven't heard anything in just under a year.--Satrughna (talk) 10:56, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
